These are some of the books requested by our readers. Sorry, for being so late, it's a little bit hard to find ebooks these days because of the take down of MegaUpload, closure of services by FileSonic and FileServe and reduction of speeds of free users by Rapidshare. Anyhow I managed to find these ebooks. One pro tip I'd like to give users is to use this application called JDownloader. It's a great download manager for such file sharing sites. It also supports the host which I have been using. Just copy the link and the application detects it, you can pause and resume downloads too if you want.
Highlights - Medical School Pathology Video Lectures by Dr. Minarcik
Written by
Abdul Kareem
Hi there!
This time I've decided to create a new series of posts titled "Highlights". As the name suggests, these posts highlight various useful resources for medical students on the Internet. It is beyond our imagination that how much of information is present on the Internet, but sadly, this itself is a cause of it's being so under-used. There is so much out there that you don't bother looking out and trying to find the good things. Even after years of using the Internet, I still keep stumbling upon some really useful sites and think that I should have found it earlier. So here I will be sharing with you a few resources that I think would be of very good use.
We begin with this series of video lectures of Pathology by Dr. Minarcik. He looks like a very tech savvy professor of Pathology (we all want such teachers, don't we?), who has put up a series of videos on YouTube and the best part is that he has done it for totally free. Here is a sample video:
I have seen many of his videos and must say that he is quite good. He strictly follows the chapter sequence and syllabus of the Robbins Pathology textbook. He doesn't go into too much detail, but that is the good thing about him. His teaching experience definitely shows, as he tells us which areas to focus on and what things are not so important.
On his official channel, you can find videos of only General Pathology chapters. I guess he hasn't found time to make systemic pathology chapters specifically for YouTube. But he also runs an online pathology course each year and gives live classes to students all over the world (even interacts with them through Skype) and has recorded the videos of this course and posted on his website. I have uploaded these videos for Systemic Pathology on my channel and they are good enough as those of General Pathology. You might find the Systemic Pathology videos a bit strange as he plays some music a few times and quite often interacts with his students, but they still do a good job if you want to listen to the lecture (something is better than nothing I always say).
Here we have compiled the links for all the videos of this series for the convenience of viewers (Mind you, it took some effort). You can watch whatever chapter you want and won't have to search for the next part of the video every time. Do bookmark this page if you like to. You can find the chapter-wise links below.

Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, 18th Edition - Download (PDF and CHM)
Written by
Abdul Kareem
This book needs no introduction. Every medical student knows about Harrison's (atleast those who have reached clinical sciences). It is probably the most famous of all medical books. One thing that immediately strikes a person when he sees the book is its "thickness". When I first saw it, I was like "Gosh, that's one big book." The book is thick, with lots of pages, the text is small, there's no gap between chapters and there's no blank space at all! It is enough for a student to have a heart-attack when you inform him "Dude, that's just Volume-I, there's one more volume of the same size!"
Times have changed and so should our approach. One should use a covenient way if available. An e-book of Harrison's would be an excellent example of how technology can makes things so convenient. You can carry it on your laptop, tablet or even mobile without any additional load at all. Regarding the contents of the book or it's usefulness, I can't comment because I haven't reached the clinical phase of my course yet.
This is the new 18th edition that was released in July 2011. You can download it in both chm and pdf formats. I recommend chm as it is better and more convenient once you get used to it. I've also mentioned that applications on iOS and Android that can run chm files. Feel free to comment if you face any problem.

Netter's Atlas of Embryology - Download (PDF)

Embryology is a slightly complex subject and it requires a lot of visualisation. This atlas, just like the atlas of gross anatomy, is full of beautiful drawings that help make the subject a lot easier. It has step by step 3D diagrams of many complex processes that occur during development. It is definitely a very good aid for understanding Embryology.
This is actually a collection of images from "Netter Presenter" made into a pdf by me. You can navigate the book easily using bookmarks and the text is also fully searchable. You can preview the book from the screenshots below and download it through the link given at the end.
